No two brains are the same, a good way to think about them is being unique like fingerprints. People who are neurodivergent have brains that function differently from the ‘average’ neurotypical person and have unique strengths but also different challenges.
Not everyone who is neurodivergent has a diagnosis. Some examples of neurodiversity include ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Sensory processing etc. I myself am dyslexic.
The advantage of solution focused hypnotherapy is that it is evidence-based, centred around understanding how our brains work, and why it works the way it does. Through the ‘brain explanation’ we show that there is nothing inherently ‘wrong’ with neurodivergent brains, but merely differences in how they are ‘wired’.
By focusing on our unique strengths and inner resources, clients become more confident and resilient allowing them to focus on the things that are important to them.
Sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual I am working with. This may mean offering things like home visits, shorter sessions, parental involvement as well as other adaptations within sessions.
