My Fibro Iceberg!

My Fibro Iceberg!

So…I have not posted in over a year! I can’t believe how long it has actually been! So… I hit a bit of an iceberg last April.

One day I was cruising along, tackling work, social events, and workouts without a second thought. The next, I was in hospital, stranded in a foggy, painful sea of chronic fatigue and widespread pain. Fibromyalgia knocked me completely off course, leaving me adrift and in unfamiliar waters.

For a long time, I fought the current. I tried to force my battered vessel to sail at its old speed, which only caused more damage. You can only bail water for so long before you realise you need to change how you handle the storm.

I’d be lying if I said the seas are completely calm now. Some days are still very choppy, and I lose sight of the horizon. But the boat is steadying itself. I am learning how to navigate in a slightly beat up boat, where somethings just don’t work the way, they are meant to, but that’s ok.

It is defiantly not the route I had planned or the boat I thought I would be in. My life looks very different now and that’s ok too.

I hope to get back to posting more often and sailing the Hypo flag once again.
